The anthology “Art Researches” of the Dimitri Janelidze Scientifi c Research Institute at the Georgian State Shota Rustaveli University of Theater and Film was first published in 2019.
In the second volume of “Art Researches”, the research spectrum is presented in a broader sense – it includes contributions in the fi elds of theater studies (The Puppet in Ritual, Magic and Art; The Scenography of the Performance in the Context of the Concept of Direction.), art studies (From the History of Theater Architecture of the 19th Century), fi lm studies (Research on the fi lm of postmodernism and on metaphorical fi lm), literary studies (The cultural phenomenon of Romanticism), musicology (V. Sardous and G. Puccini’s “Tosca” (comparative analysis), as well
as choreology (The Dance Dialect of Racha) and art education (On the question of teaching art).
In the traditional section “From the Museum Collection” we off er the reader the materials dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the famous Georgian fi lm director Merab Kokochashvili. These materials are kept in the collection of the Theatre and Film Museum, which is integrated into the structure of the Dimitri Janelidze Scientifi c Research Institute at the Georgian State Shota Rustaveli University of Theatre and Film.
Just like the fi rst volume of “Art Researches”, the second volume presents the research contributions to Georgian cultural history, modern art processes, and problems of art education. The volume also contains contributions that are intended as teaching aids for art studies.
