About the Journal
The anthology "Art Researches" of the Dimitri Janelidze Scientific Research Institute at the Georgian State Shota Rustaveli University of Theatre and Film is published annually. The anthology presents the latest research work of the staff of the D. Janelidze Institute.
All issues of "Art Researches" contain diverse and interesting research work in the fields of art studies, theatre studies, film studies, choreology, musicology, art didactics, literary studies and cultural studies. Detailed summaries in English and German serve the international scientific integration of mentioned research works.
The scientific works deal with the problems of art, mainly in the fields of cultural history, as well as with the important issues of contemporary art, with the problems of art processes; among the contributions one can also find researches intended as teaching materials of the University, as well as the new translations of the important art researches from different languages into Georgian, created by our colleagues.
In each volume of "Art-Researches", the section "From the Museum's Collection" presents materials (photos, posters, sketches) kept in the inventory of the Theatre and Film Museum, which is integrated into the structure of the Dimitri Janelidze Scientific Research Institute at the Georgian State Shota Rustaveli University of Theatre and Film. Most of these materials are being published for the first time and are previously unknown to the general audience and professionals. The volume also contains information about the books and scientific publications prepared in the Institute, about the participation of the Institute's staff in scientific and educational activities.
Each volume of "Art Researches" has an extra editorial board consisting of Georgian and foreign researchers. "Art Researches" is published once a year in Georgian. All scientific articles are accompanied by detailed summaries in English and German. Each scientific article is reviewed before publication.
In the scientific interest of the Dimitri Janelidze Scientific Research Institute is the publication of contributions on the activities of Georgian artists and scientists, on Georgian culture, preserved in the holdings of foreign archives and museums, so that they become accessible for scientific use and further research.
