The anthology „Art Researches“ of the Dimitri Janelidze Scientific Research Institute at the Georgian State Shota Rustaveli University of Theatre and Film is published annually. The present anthology is characterized by innovations - it contains a variety of interesting scientific contributions in the fields of Art studies („From the history of memory - a collection of sketches“), Theatre studies („The second „Golden Age“ of Georgian theatre / Beginning of the 1970s“), Film studies („Does anyone here know me? No, that‘s not Lear! Who is it that can tell me who I am?“- Narration in Film. Principles of Postmodernism“; „The Structuralist Research of Cinematographic Art and the Philosophical Aspect of Metaphor“), Choreology („The Dance Dialect of the Eastern Mountainous Regions of Georgia -Tushian, Chevsurian, Pshavian, Chevian, Mtiulian“), Art Didactics („Some Questions of the Philosophical Assessment of Art“), Literary Studies („The Symbolological Aspect of Romanticism“). All contributions contain detailed summaries in English and German. For the first time, an excerpt from Franco Zeffirelli‘s autobiography (Chapter 5 -Luchino) is published in Georgian. In the traditional section „From the Museum Collection“ we offer the reader the materials dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the famous Georgian theatre director Mikheil Tumanishvili. Together with the article „The Titan“, dedicated to the pedagogical and creative activity of the great master, there will also be presented for the wide audience formerly unknown photographic and graphic materials preserved in the holdings of the Theatre and Film Museum, which is integrated into the structure of the Dimitri Janelidze Scientific Research Institute at the Georgian State Shota Rustaveli University of Theatre and Film. The reader will also have the opportunity to get acquainted with the specimens of decorative theatre art, which are posters, attributes and sketches of theatre performances of the 40s - 60s of the 20th century. A collection of sketches is presented, which is kept in the Theatre and Film Museum. Just like the first (2019) and the second volume (2020), the third volume of the „Art Studies“ of the Dimitri Janelidze Scientific Research Institute presents the research contributions to Georgian cultural history, modern art processes, as well as to the problems of art teaching/didactics. The volume also contains contributions intended as textbooks, i.e. auxiliary materials for art studies.
